Thailand: Last of the Elephant Camp
After the elephant finished painting we feed it an entire barrel of bananas a bunch at a time. I know they're big creatures, but it still was hard to believe that one animal could eat that much at one time. Then the elephant put our hats back on for us. One of the many things they are trained to do. If a mahout's hat falls off they will pick it up and put it back on his head. Above: We are pictured with the whole crew. They were awesome people and made this a fantastic experience for us! We're holding our certificates that we've just been presented with. It's off for some last photos and then it was time to take the elephants back to the jungle for the last time. Isn't she the cutest thing you've ever seen? The elephant kept leaning and rubbing on Markian for some reason. She'd been doing that since we were painting with her earlier. I thought it was really funny. I think they miss each other. Our cab arrived promptly to pick us up and take us in to the city of Chiang Mai. We were tired, but happy. What a wonderful experience! I hope to go back some day.
