A-bombed tree Willow
It's amazing that anything can survive an atomic blast, but this tree and a few others did. This tree is up near Hiroshima Castle. It is tied up, but it's still there which I think is amazing.
It's sad I'm still using pictures from our first few days exploring, but I really haven't had time to go exploring anywhere or take any more pictures this week! Things have been busy with training and all and trying to figure out the grocery store and what we can eat.
Tomorrow we go to an all day kids classes training class. I'm sure it will prove useful. Wednesday we meet the real estate agent for apartment shopping, and on Thursday we teach our first lessons! In between all that we have training classes to go to still and classes to observe. So, we're keeping busy. We asked about taking a teacher's apartment that was leaving because we thought it may be easier and cheaper than starting from scratch. The school doesn't recommend it because of the way they do apartments here. To make a long store short, basically you could get screwed out of some cash in the long run. It's all complicated, but it sucks that it's not as simple as it could be. Oh well, hopefully we'll find something we like on Wednesday. At least we can afford more that most teachers at our school can because we have two incomes. I'm just worried about all those set up fees (the agent fee, the deposit, possible key money, and insurance fee). Yikes!
